seven-product mineral skin-care line developed specifically for Asian skin.
“The texture [of the mineral line] gives a smooth feeling without stickiness and thus is also comfortable for the highly humid climate specific to Asia,” said Shiseido, their parent company, in a press release.
Being of Asian descent, I am hopeful for this news! My skin is very sensitive and temperamental. Who knows if it’s because I’m Asian or it’s just my skin type. But I have tried everything from bar soap to the dermatologist to Proactiv and high-end product lines.
The seven-product mineral skin care line will be released in Japan in March 2012 and then in other Asian countries. Hopefully it will be available online and maybe it will make its way to the USA. The reason for the Japan release is based on the location. “The texture [of the mineral line] gives a smooth feeling without stickiness and thus is also comfortable for the highly humid climate specific to Asia,” said Shiseido, their parent company, in a press release. Neutrogena did something similar to this with their Norwegian Formula hand cream. It wasn’t super-thick for nothing.
I’m not sure how many women choose their cosmetic / skin care products based solely on their race. It seems as though women choose products based on skin tone, colors, and issues they have because of their race. It’s just not something that has been relevant for women in the USA. Most of the skin care products are grouped based on the type of skin you have, I wouldn’t be surprised though if in the future there will be more skin care specific products for racial groups as an option. Should be interesting.
In the meantime, if you are Asian and have found excellent skin care products, please share your secrets with me!
