Driving around Boston and this colorful, fun looking boutique caught my eye, the Designers Circus.
The Designers Circus boutique is its own under-the-radar clothing event, a sample sale, a warehouse sale, a pop-up store, an invitation-only designer social, and an experience in social shopping – all in one place. They have three locations and are only opened a few times a year, for a few days each time. The three locations are Allston, MA, Portland, ME, and Guilford, CT. Each location has its own sale dates, mostly based on seasons and holidays.
What you will find is hundreds of left-over pieces from sales due to overages, cancellations and sample lines, some designer friends’ clothing and the owners personal label, Blanco Negro. All items are made by local, national and international designers, with about 70 designers represented at each sale.
Some of you may or may not like this and I was glad to read this in advance, their is an open dressing room. Designers Circus believes it allows for women to share the opinions of what looks good on each other, and women can switch items they do not want to whomever they are sharing the room with. I remember this set up at Frugal Fannies and Loehman’s. Depending on your level of comfort, you might not want to wear the panties that have lost their elasticity and say “Hoochie,” food for thought.
Designers Circus encourages all women to tell and bring their friends to this new shopping social experience!
