- ‘Sex at the Zoo’ : adult-themed lecture event at the Franklin Park Zoo. Dr. Rory Browne will discuss when it’s better to be in a relationship and when it’s better to be single — in the animal kingdom, that is. Feb. 10, adults only.
- Timberfakes at Hard Rock : catch the Timberfakes at the Hard Rock Cafe. Local JT tribute act will be joined by another local cover band, East Coast Soul. Feb. 10.
- Princess and the Frog Speed Dating : Swing by the Flat Iron Tapas Bar & Lounge for a speed dating mixer and networking event. In addition to some encouraged socializing, there will also be music performances, champagne, and a buffet. Feb. 11, 21+
- ‘Trials of Love’ Comedy Night : Flex those laugh lines and take in a comedy show at Mottley’s, where comic Mike Dorval (pictured) will perform a show about matters of the heart called “Trials of Love.” Dorval will be bringing couples up on stage to settle old scores, once and for all. - Charity Date Auction : Project Cupid’s 3d annual Date Auction, where eligible men and women will be up for grabs all in the name of a good cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pediatric Leukemia research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. Among those to be auctioned is former NESN reporter Heidi Watney. Feb 11, 21+
- Cruise Around the Harbor : The Spirit of Boston will be hosting a special dinner for valentines aboard the boat, where diners will go for a spin around Boston Harbor. Following dinner there will also be dancing and a champagne toast. Feb. 11
- Victorian Valentine Party : Come to Boutique Fabulous in Inman Square and celebrate a Valentine’s Day of yesteryear. Guests can enjoy chocolate, tea, and champagne — plus a little shopping, of course. Feb. 11
- Naked Scavenger Hunt : See the Museum of Fine Arts in a whole new way. This scavenger hunt takes you through the building in search of artwork that features nudity. Feb. 11 and 12, adults only.

- Mortified’s Doomed Valentine’s Day Show : Catch a Mortified stage show, where brave men and women read from old journals and share stories of teenage angst. Boston.com’s Love Letters columnist will be among those to take the stage. Feb. 13

- Dining in the Dark : Enjoy a sensory adventure at the Hampshire House that will lead diners through an entire meal while blindfolded, creating a heightened sense of taste, touch, scent, and sound. Feb. 14
